Caraway Colby Crackers

Cheese and crackers? How about cheese in crackers! These Caraway Colby Crackers featuring The Carawaybou are surprisingly easy to make and unsurprisingly delicious. With a recipe that takes around 30 minutes from start to finish, these buttery, flaky crackers will be your go-to for quick appetizers, food gifts, and last minute celebrations.

makes approximately 36 crackers 

What You’ll Need: 

  • 1 1/2 cups flour

  • 1/2 cup butter, cubed

  • 2 cups The Carawaybou, shredded

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • Caraway seeds

  • Freshly ground sea salt and black pepper

Directions: 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  2. In a food processor, combine the flour, butter, cheese, and salt. Pulse or mix until a dough forms, adding the water as needed.

  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes. We used a variety of cookie cutters to make it fun!

  4. Transfer the cutouts onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle each cracker lightly with caraway seeds or coarsely ground black pepper, or leave them plain. Using your fingertips, gently press the seeds and pepper into the crackers,

  5. Bake for 10 – 12 minutes until lightly golden brown. Carefully transfer the crackers onto a wire rack to cool.
