2023 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Contest Results

Feeling Grateful

Cream puffs, adorable cows, cold beer, and live music are just a few things we love about the state fair. One of our favorites? The cheese competition! This past week, the results for the 2023 Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Competition were announced. Among all the awards given to many of the incredible cheeses made in our state we received four honorable spots on the podiums. Check them out!

  • The Imperial Buck β€” First Place in Class 2: Aged Cheddar

  • The Fawn β€” Second Place in Class 1: Mild Cheddar

  • The Rattlesnake β€” Third Place in Class 10: Flavored Pepper Cheese

  • The Indigo Bunting β€” Third Place in Class 8: Blue Veined Cheese

Honorable Mentions

For those who don’t already know, the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Products Competition is an extremely tight race. The cheeses are judged out of a total score of 100, and sometimes the difference between third and fourth place is only a tenth of point! A few of our cheeses were just steps off the podium, and we’re just as proud of them as those that made the cut.

  • The Stag β€” Fourth Place in Class 2: Aged Cheddar

  • The Doe β€” Fourth Place in Class 14: Flavored Hard Cheese

  • The Robin β€” Fifth Place in Class 3: Colby, Monterey Jack

Thankful As Ever

As always, we are filled with gratitude that our cheeses continue to be well received by the judges of each competition we enter, and well loved by our Deer Creek family across the country. We do what we do in the hopes that our cheeses can bring a smile to your face and a celebration to your table. Many thanks to all who make Deer Creek possible!
