Apricot & Vanilla Bean Grilled Cheese
This grilled cheese recipe is too sweet not to share! Apricot jam and the aromatic Madagascar vanilla bean of The Doe create a harmonious combination that will surely satisfy your sweet tooth. Who says grilled cheese has to be savory?
Apricot & Vanilla Bean Grilled Cheese
makes 4 servings
What You’ll Need:
- 8 slices of Italian bread
- apricot jam
- Deer Creek’s The Doe
- butter
- powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
- Place four slices of bread on your work surface. Spread each slice with approximately one tablespoon of jam. Slice The Doe into 1/8 inch slices. Layer the cheese on top of the jam.
- Butter the four remaining slices of bread and top each sandwich with the bread, buttered side up.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large fry pan over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan and cook them until the bread is light brown and toasted. Very carefully flip the sandwiches over and continue cooking until that side is toasted and the cheese begins to melt. Using a spatula, transfer the sandwiches individual serving plates and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with extra jam on the side for dipping.
