Impossibly Good Burger

Is it possible to make a veggie burger just as tasty as a traditional one? We think so! This mouthwatering handheld features our 1 Year Select AA Grade Cheddar melted over burger patties made with Impossible™️ Beef Made from Plants. Finished with crisp arugula, fresh avocado, tangy pickled red onions, and smoky chipotle aioli spread on a toasted bun, this impossibly good burger is sure to satisfy.

What You’ll Need:

To make the pickled red onions

  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar

  • 1/8 cup water

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar

To make the burger patties

  • 12 oz Impossible Ground Beef Made from Plants

  • 1 egg

  • Black pepper

  • Seasoned salt

  • Garlic powder

To create the burgers

  • 1 Year Select AA Grade Cheddar, desired amount shredded

  • Sesame hamburger buns

  • Avocado, sliced

  • Chipotle aioli

  • Arugula

  • Butter

How to Make It:

  1. Start by pickling your onions to allow time to develop flavor. In a jar, combine vinegar and water. Stir in the sugar and salt until completely dissolved. Add the sliced red onions and set aside to pickle.

  2. For the patties, combine Impossible meat, egg, and seasonings in a bowl. Mix well using your hands. In a frying pan, melt a pat of butter over medium heat. We have found that the best way to form the patties and keep them together is to create a ball, flatten it slightly in your hands, and continue to flatten it once it is placed in the pan.

  3. Cook the first side of each patty for about 3 minutes. Once done, flip and top with a generous handful of shredded 1 Year Select cheese. Cover to help melt the cheese, and cook for at least another 3 minutes.

  4. Toast the hamburger buns as desired. Spread the toasted buns with chipotle aioli and top with an Impossible patty (or two), a handful of arugula, slices of avocado, and pickled onions. Dig in!
